For the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si. was officially appointed as Head of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry for the 2026–2031 term, succeeding Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., who has completed his term of service. Meanwhile, Dr. Deni Elfiati, S.P., M.P. was appointed as Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, succeeding Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si.

During the meeting, the Directorate of Finance presented several strategic updates of shared concern, including the Single Tuition Fee (UKT). It was announced that the UKT review process is scheduled to commence in August 2026 in accordance with the procedures established by the university.

Throughout the three-day training, Muhammad Hadi Saputra guided students from fundamental concepts to the practical application of the Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt) method, one of the most widely used approaches for predicting species distribution based on species occurrence data and environmental variables. Participants learned data processing techniques, the use of environmental variables, species distribution modeling, and the interpretation of analytical results applicable to a wide range of forestry and biodiversity conservation research.

The Faculty of Forestry of USU and the North Sumatra Provincial Environment and Forestry Agency discussed plans to develop a Biodiversity Park (Taman Kehati) at the Arboretum of Campus 2 Kwala Bekala. This initiative is expected to strengthen the functions of education, research, and environmental conservation while supporting sustainable development in North Sumatra.

A total of 145 students will participate in the Forest Ecosystem Introduction Field Practice (P2EH) for ten days, from June 26 to July 5, 2026. The program is designed to provide students with hands-on learning experiences in understanding forest ecosystem characteristics, conservation principles, and developing field observation and analytical skills.

The meeting focused on finalizing and validating the organizational structure of the implementation team for the KEHATI Biodiversity Park. Establishing the team marks an important step in ensuring that the development of the conservation area at USU Campus 2 Bekala is carried out in a coordinated, effective, and sustainable manner.

The USU Faculty of Forestry welcomed representatives from Green Justice Indonesia to discuss strengthening the governance of the Leuser Ecosystem Area through strategic collaboration between academia and civil society.

The webinar featured Ms. Zhou Wenjuan as the keynote speaker, who delivered a comprehensive session on the art of floral arrangement. Her presentation covered the fundamental principles of floral design, the selection and characteristics of floral materials, color harmony, and flower arrangement techniques for creating aesthetically pleasing, balanced, and artistic compositions.

A total of 147 students will participate in the Forest Ecosystem Introduction Field Practice at the Tangkahan Natural Forest within Gunung Leuser National Park, Langkat Regency, from June 26 to July 5, 2026. Throughout the program, students will be guided by faculty members, organizing committee members, and field assistants as they study various aspects of forest ecosystems firsthand, including vegetation characteristics, biodiversity, wildlife, non-timber forest products, ecosystem services, and the diverse forest resources found within the conservation area.

In addition to receiving theoretical instruction, students were given the opportunity to practice the first aid techniques they had learned. These practical sessions were designed to enhance students' preparedness for potential accidents or emergencies during the Forest Ecosystem Introduction Field Practice (P2EH). Participants demonstrated great enthusiasm throughout the simulations and hands-on exercises led by the instructors.
