The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) continues to strengthen collaboration with strategic partners in support of environmental conservation and sustainable development. This commitment was reaffirmed through a meeting with PT Adi Askara Bumi held at the Faculty of Forestry Meeting Room on Tuesday (July 28). The discussion focused on opportunities to collaborate on a program to plant 10,000 trees in Deli Serdang Regency through the "New Home Pass, New Tree" environmental initiative.

Wikstea Showcases Innovative Healthy Beverages Made from Non-Timber Forest Products at KKSU 2026

Wikstea, an innovative product developed under the guidance of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), participated in Karya Kreatif Sumatera Utara (KKSU) 2026, organized by Bank Indonesia Representative Office of North Sumatra at Podomoro City Deli Medan from July 15–26, 2026. The event provided an opportunity to introduce healthy beverages made from non-timber forest products to the public while promoting the development of a sustainable natural resource-based creative economy.

The visit was conducted to assess the readiness of the USU Arboretum, which will serve as one of the field visit locations for delegates attending The 5th IMT-GT University Network (UNINET) Meeting Council. Through this site inspection, representatives from the USU International Office and the Faculty of Forestry evaluated the visitor routes, designated stopping points, and overall site conditions to ensure a safe, comfortable, and engaging experience for international participants.
