The Congress of the Student Community of the Faculty of Forestry Sylva Indonesia Branch Executive Universitas Sumatera Utara (MASMA Fahutan Sylva Indonesia PC USU) was held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Faculty of Forestry USU, Medan. This congress served as a forum for institutional evaluation and student governance enhancement, particularly addressing the urgency of establishing the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Forestry USU.

The establishment of the BEM was discussed as a strategic effort to strengthen the student governance framework through coordinated work programs, structured advocacy, and effective representation of student aspirations. The creation of this executive body is envisioned to elevate student representation while promoting the execution of impactful and sustainable student-led initiatives.

Deliberations proceeded through formal parliamentary sessions, opinion sharing, and consensus-building among participants. The congress agenda also included reviewing the organization's constitution—specifically the Constitution of the Student Community of the Faculty of Forestry Sylva Indonesia PC USU—to establish a clear foundation for defining powers, responsibilities, and procedural steps for forming the BEM in accordance with applicable governance rules.

Through this congress, students are expected to chart a course toward democratic, transparent, and accountable organizational growth while fostering stronger communication and collaboration with faculty leadership. The outcomes of these discussions aim to serve as the groundwork for a more representative institutional system focused on the collective interests of all forestry students.
This initiative directly aligns with Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 (Quality Education) through student leadership development and active participation, as well as SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by strengthening democratic, transparent, and accountable organizational governance.
