Fahutan USU held an International Guest Lecture seminar entitled “forestry product development” by presenting four presenters from Russia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. This seminar discussed innovations in forest materials such as hydrogels, lignin, and bamboo laminated boards, which attracted enthusiasm from participants in the Forestry Study Program.

The Faculty of Forestry at the Universitas Sumatera Utara is hosting an International Lecture on biorefinery innovation, bamboo applications, biocomposites and formaldehyde-free wood adhesives from palm biomass. The event featured experts from Indonesia, Malaysia and Russia on September 26, 2024.

Kirana Aliyyu Jingga, USU Undergraduate Program in Forestry student, won 5 medals in PON XXI Sumut-Aceh in the sport of Rafting representing North Sumatra. Kirana and her team's achievements included 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze, inspiring young people to work and compete.
