A total of 128 USU lecturers, including 4 from the Faculty of Forestry, officially received their civil servant appointment decrees on Monday (June 2), at the Digital Learning Centre Building (DLCB).

FACULTY OF FORESTRY PR – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held the official appointment ceremony for 128 lecturers, transitioning from Candidates for Civil Servants (CPNS) to Civil Servants (PNS), on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Digital Learning Centre Building (DLCB).

The event was attended by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., accompanied by Vice Rectors II and IV, the University Secretary, Deans and Vice Deans, the Acting Head of the Human Resources Bureau, and the HR Team. The appointees came from various faculties at USU, including four lecturers from the Faculty of Forestry: Faujiah Nurhasanah Ritonga, M.Si., Deanova Frestiana Br Pelawi, M.Sc., Suri Fadhilla, S.Hut., M.Sc., and Mariah Ulfa, S.Hut., M.Sc.

In his remarks, the Rector congratulated the newly appointed civil servant lecturers and emphasized the significant responsibility they now bear in upholding the Tridharma of Higher Education: teaching, research, and community service.

"Being a lecturer is not merely a profession, but a form of service. In today’s era of industrial and digital transformation, lecturers must be well-versed in technological advancements, including Artificial Intelligence, and be able to integrate them into both teaching and research," said Prof. Muryanto.

The Rector further underlined that lecturers are the frontline agents in realizing USU's vision of becoming an internationally recognized, excellent university. Enhancing human resource quality is key to meeting global challenges and achieving the university’s strategic transformation slogan: Transformation Towards the Ultimate.

This appointment ceremony marks not only a milestone in the career paths of the lecturers but also demonstrates USU’s institutional commitment to strengthening academic quality and governance that is professional and responsive to the times.
