The USU Faculty of Forestry earned a series of awards at the 2025 USU Award, ranging from priority performance indicators and PDDIKTI reporting accuracy to individual recognitions, affirming the faculty’s strong performance and collaboration in supporting the university’s progress.
The Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara will conduct the Final Presentation of the Impact Campus/MBKM for the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2025/2026 on 16 December 2025 as part of the evaluation and final assessment of MBKM participating students by the Recognition Team. This activity aims to ensure that MBKM learning outcomes are achieved optimally and integrated with the study program curriculum.
The USU Faculty of Forestry announces the official Odd Semester Final Exam Schedule for the 2025/2026 academic year for all Forestry students. The USU Faculty of Forestry held a World Top Scientist Seminar themed “Sustainable Urban Growth and Climate Resilience,” featuring Prof. Monika Kuffer from the University of Twente, on December 4, 2025, in the Damar Room of the USU Faculty of Forestry.
The USU Faculty of Forestry together with RELINDO North Sumatra and several rescue teams carried out humanitarian evacuation efforts for flood-affected residents in Medan Deli to Tanjungpura, Langkat. This humanitarian mission was led by Dr. Achmad Siddik Thoha and took place intensively over two days.
The USU Faculty of Forestry organized a Practitioner Lecture on UAV Monitoring for Conservation with the topic “Utilizing UAVs for the Analysis of Healing Forest Parameters,” featuring Ferry Aulia Hawari, S.Hut., from YOSL–OIC, held on December 1, 2025 at the USU Faculty of Forestry.

The USU Faculty of Forestry held a Practitioner Lecture on Hydrometeorological Disaster Mitigation with the topic “Forest and Land Fire Prevention,” featuring Chaerul Parsaulian Ginting, Head of Manggala Agni Daops Sumatra IV/Pekanbaru. The activity took place on 26 November 2025 at the USU Faculty of Forestry.
This Practitioner Lecture discusses the use of UAV technology in ecotourism, mangroves, and healing forests, intended for 7th-semester Forestry students specializing in Forest Resource Conservation to strengthen drone-based monitoring skills.
The Pre-Graduation Briefing for Prospective Graduates of the USU Faculty of Forestry Period I Academic Year 2025/2026 featured M. Indra Kurnia, S.Hut. (Director of Conservation at YOSL–OIC) to strengthen soft skills and the role of foresters in supporting the SDGs, while also announcing the Best Graduates from four fields of specialization.
