Summer Course 2026 Features International Community Service at Pantai Mangrove Sejarah The series of activities began with mangrove planting as a symbol of the shared commitment to maintaining the sustainability of coastal ecosystems. The action was then followed by the Opening Ceremony of the International Community Service, marking the commencement of international community service activities in the Pantai Mangrove Sejarah area. 27 September 2026

Faculty of Forestry USU and the Center of Excellence for Science and Technology (PUI) Mangrove USU Strengthen Mangrove Rehabilitation through International Community Service at Pantai Sejarah The activity involved participants from five countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Nigeria, Malaysia, and Pakistan. The participation of people from different countries strengthened the international dimension of the community service activity while creating opportunities for exchanging knowledge and experiences on sustainable coastal ecosystem management. 27 September 2026

Learning from Nature, RAWANTARA Invites Children to Befriend Trees at the USU Arboretum The excitement grew as the children had the opportunity to play and bathe in the stream. After receiving guidance from their parents and volunteers, the children entered the stream and enjoyed the refreshing water while playing together. Laughter and joyful cheers echoed along the stream, creating one of the most memorable moments in their journey of getting to know nature. 27 September 2026

Summer Course 2026 Opening Ceremony Officially Held, Bringing the Spirit of International Collaboration The opening ceremony was enlivened by a traditional dance performance that introduced Indonesia's rich cultural heritage to participants. The atmosphere became even more vibrant with the screening of profile videos of the Faculty of Forestry USU and the Mangrove Center of Excellence for Science and Technology (PUI Mangrove), showcasing the contributions of both institutions to scientific development, mangrove conservation, and collaboration with various stakeholders in environmental preservation. 26 September 2026

Rimbapala Celebrates Its 14th Anniversary with Green Actions and Strengthened Togetherness This spirit was then put into action through the planting of eight benzoin tree seedlings (Styrax paralleloneurum) on the campus grounds of the Faculty of Forestry, USU. The planting was carried out together with several student organizations: the Student Association (HMJ), and the North Sumatra Nature Lovers Association (Mapalasu). 26 September 2026

The 8th ICONART 2026 Successfully Held, Strengthening Global Collaboration in Natural Resources Carrying the spirit of collaboration in the development of science and technology, the 8th ICONART brought together academics, researchers, and practitioners from various countries to share research findings and ideas related to natural resource management and technology. The conference served as a space for knowledge exchange while opening opportunities to strengthen international cooperation networks in forestry, environmental, and natural resource fields. 23 September 2026

RAWANTARA Medan Surveys the USU Arboretum Trekking Route, Ensuring a Safe Route for Nature Education Activities The survey was conducted by representatives of RAWANTARA Medan, Zidan Syahira and Yadia, accompanied by the Secretary to the Dean and the Public Relations Team of the Faculty of Forestry USU, as well as representatives of the Rain Forest Student Activity Unit (UKM). The team jointly followed the trail through the Arboretum area to directly observe the terrain and environmental conditions that participants will encounter. 22 September 2026

RAWANTARA Medan Holds an Audience with the Faculty of Forestry USU, Prepares Nature School at the Arboretum During the audience, both parties discussed the technical aspects and readiness of the activity, which will involve elementary school children together with their parents. Faculty of Forestry USU and EMP Gebang Synergize Environmental Programs One of the main agendas is the planting of 5,000 mangrove seedlings of the Avicennia and Rhizophora species in the SCGD 01 area. The activity will involve local communities and farmer groups, with seedlings and stakes supported by Bubun Village. In addition to planting, the activity will include environmental education. 17 September 2026

SILFOSNITY Gen II Officially Inaugurated, Strengthening Regeneration for Sustainable Forests Carrying the theme “SILFOSNITY Synergy: Silvicultural Regeneration for Climate Resilience and Sustainable Forests,” the inauguration marked a momentum for the new management board to continue the organization's regeneration process while strengthening student contributions to silviculture and sustainable forest management. 14 September 2026
