The Rimbapala Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), celebrated its 14th anniversary along with a thanksgiving celebration for the 2026/2027 management period on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Carrying the spirit of “Growing Through Change, Growing Stronger Together,” the activity served as a moment to reflect on the organization's journey while strengthening togetherness and environmental awareness.

The activity was also attended by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of the Faculty of Forestry, USU, Dr. Tito Sucipto, also attended the activity. In his remarks, Dr. Tito expressed his appreciation for Rimbapala's 14-year journey and encouraged all members to maintain solidarity and togetherness in managing the organization.
According to him, solidarity is an important strength in maintaining organizational continuity, particularly during leadership regeneration. The spirit of togetherness is expected to remain the foundation for Rimbapala in carrying out various activities and making positive contributions to the environment and student life.

“Continue to maintain solidarity. An organization becomes strong when all its members can move forward and grow together,” Dr. Tito said in his remarks.
This spirit was then put into action through the planting of eight benzoin tree seedlings (Styrax paralleloneurum) on the campus grounds of the Faculty of Forestry USU. The planting was carried out together with several student organizations, the Student Association (HMJ), and the North Sumatra Nature Lovers Association (Mapalasu).

The selection of benzoin trees for planting also reflects Rimbapala's close connection with the richness of North Sumatra's forests and biodiversity. This action symbolized that an anniversary celebration is not merely an opportunity to commemorate the organization's journey but also an occasion to take concrete action to protect the environment.
The series of activities continued with a group movie screening and discussion. This activity provided a space for interaction among members and participating student organizations to exchange perspectives, strengthen relationships, and foster a spirit of collaboration in supporting organizational sustainability.
As it enters its 14th year, Rimbapala is expected to continue growing through strong leadership regeneration, solidarity among members, and activities that benefit the environment and society. The spirit of “Growing Through Change, Growing Stronger Together” serves as a reminder that an organization's journey is determined not only by its age but also by the values and contributions passed down from one generation to the next.

The 14th anniversary celebration and thanksgiving event for the Rimbapala management are aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 through institutional strengthening, leadership regeneration, and the development of inclusive dialogue spaces. Collaboration with student organizations, Student Associations (HMJ), and Mapalasu also supports SDG 17 through strengthening partnerships for sustainable development.
