Faculty of Forestry USU Visits Simelir Bamboo Tourism with Foreign Scientists The USU Faculty of Forestry welcomed foreign guests with a series of warm events and a tour visit to the Simelir Bamboo Window, Langkat. The visit was aimed at exploring cooperation related to innovation in non-timber forest products and was filled with seminars by four researchers from Russia, Malaysia and Indonesia. 28 September 2024

Presenting Researchers from Russia, Malaysia, and Indonesia, USU Faculty of Forestry Holds International Guest Lecture Seminar Titled Innovation and Technology in Utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products Fahutan USU held an International Guest Lecture seminar entitled “forestry product development” by presenting four presenters from Russia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. This seminar discussed innovations in forest materials such as hydrogels, lignin, and bamboo laminated boards, which attracted enthusiasm from participants in the Forestry Study Program. 26 September 2024

News Achievement

PON XXI North Sumatra Medal from USU Faculty of Forestry Student Kirana Aliyyu Jingga, USU Undergraduate Program in Forestry student, won 5 medals in PON XXI Sumut-Aceh in the sport of Rafting representing North Sumatra. Kirana and her team's achievements included 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze, inspiring young people to work and compete. 20 September 2024

Commemorating its 13th Anniversary, USU Rain Forest Forestry UKM Planted 100 Bamboo Seedlings at USU Bekala Campus 2 On Saturday, September 14, 2024 one of the Student Activity Units (UKM) of the USU Faculty of Forestry, Rain Forest, held its 13th Anniversary at Campus 2 USU Kwala Bekala, Deli Serdang. This year's Rain Forest anniversary was also enlivened by various activities including planting 100 bamboo seedlings in the USU Kwala Bekala Campus 2 area, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. 14 September 2024

Topping the Ranking, the USU Faculty of Forestry Successfully Won the SINTA Score Throughout Indonesia The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has scored the highest rank in scientific publications in SINTA with a score of 59,206, outperforming other forestry study programs in Indonesia. This achievement is supported by outstanding human resources and the collaboration of USU Faculty of Forestry lecturers with international stakeholders. 11 September 2024

Together with PUI Mangrove, Faculty of Forestry Conducts International Community Service in 2 Provinces The Center for Excellence in Science and Technology (PUI) Mangroves and USU's Faculty of Forestry conducted international community service on September 1-2, 2024 in North Sumatra and Aceh. This activity, which involved participants from five countries, included mangrove planting and ecotourism, was part of the Summer Course Mangrove 2024 and concluded with a visit to the famous Langsa Mangrove Forest. 02 September 2024

Seeking to Improve Campus Management and Utilization, USU's Faculty of Forestry Collaborates with BSIP Sumut The USU Faculty of Forestry and the North Sumatra Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency (BSIP) collaborated to optimize the infrastructure of the USU Bekala campus on September 2, 2024. This collaboration aims to utilize 300 hectares of land with plans to build Taman KEHATI and develop agroforestry. 02 September 2024
