USU Faculty of Forestry Strengthens International Collaboration through a Floral Arrangement Art Webinar with Guizhou Technological College of Ecology and Energy The webinar featured Ms. Zhou Wenjuan as the keynote speaker, who delivered a comprehensive session on the art of floral arrangement. Her presentation covered the fundamental principles of floral design, the selection and characteristics of floral materials, color harmony, and flower arrangement techniques for creating aesthetically pleasing, balanced, and artistic compositions. 25 June 2026

USU Faculty of Forestry Sends Off 147 Students for Forest Ecosystem Introduction Field Practice in Tangkahan A total of 147 students will participate in the Forest Ecosystem Introduction Field Practice at the Tangkahan Natural Forest within Gunung Leuser National Park, Langkat Regency, from June 26 to July 5, 2026. Throughout the program, students will be guided by faculty members, organizing committee members, and field assistants as they study various aspects of forest ecosystems firsthand, including vegetation characteristics, biodiversity, wildlife, non-timber forest products, ecosystem services, and the diverse forest resources found within the conservation area. 24 June 2026

USU Faculty of Forestry Prepares Students through the 2026 Pre-Forest Ecosystem Introduction Field Practice (Pre-P2EH) In addition to receiving theoretical instruction, students were given the opportunity to practice the first aid techniques they had learned. These practical sessions were designed to enhance students' preparedness for potential accidents or emergencies during the Forest Ecosystem Introduction Field Practice (P2EH). Participants demonstrated great enthusiasm throughout the simulations and hands-on exercises led by the instructors. 23 June 2026

USU Faculty of Forestry Monitors Asphalt Paving of the Access Bridge to Campus 2 Kwala Bekala The asphalt paving process proceeded smoothly and according to the established plan. Several hours after completion, the road surface on the bridge was once again usable, and access to Campus 2 Kwala Bekala resumed normal operation. 23 June 2026

Forestry Students of Universitas Sumatera Utara Successfully Highlight Carbon Trading and Sustainable Forest Management in National Seminar In his presentation, Yepta Jaya Sahputra Barus explained that carbon trading is one of the key instruments for controlling greenhouse gas emissions and supporting climate change mitigation efforts. He noted that the increasing concentration of greenhouse gases caused by human activities, such as fossil fuel consumption, deforestation, and forest degradation, has triggered various environmental impacts, ranging from rising global temperatures to increasingly extreme weather patterns. 20 June 2026
