The USU Faculty of Forestry Held an Iftar to Foster Fellowship The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Buka Puasa Bersama (Iftar Gathering) on March 7, 2025, at Plaza Rimbawan, fostering a spirit of togetherness. The event began with a recitation of the Quran, followed by speeches from the Head of BKM An-Nur, Dr. Pindi Patana, S.Hut., M.Sc., and the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU, Prof. Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si. An inspiring sermon was delivered by Ustadz Dr. Mhd. Yadi Harahap, MH., emphasizing the importance of unity in observing Ramadan. The warm atmosphere continued as participants broke their fast together, performed the Maghrib prayer in congregation, and enjoyed a communal dinner, strengthening the bonds between faculty members, staff, and the extended family of the Faculty of Forestry USU. 07 March 2025

The USU Faculty of Forestry Held a Punggahan to Welcome Ramadan 2025 The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Punggahan event at An-Nur Mosque on February 27, 2025, to welcome the holy month of Ramadan. The event began with a recitation of the Quran, followed by a report from the organizing committee chair and speeches from the Head of BKM An-Nur, the Head of STM, and the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU. The highlight of the event was a sermon by Ustadz Afifuddin Dalimunthe, MP., followed by a communal prayer, handshaking, and a shared lunch. Organized by BKM An-Nur, STM Fahutan USU, and Dharma Wanita, the event fostered a sense of togetherness and strengthened the bonds among the academic community of the USU Faculty of Forestry. 27 February 2025

Prof. Dr. Reiko Omoto Delivered a Public Lecture at USU Faculty of Forestry, Discussing Supply Chain-Based Coral Conservation The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara held a public lecture on February 19, 2025, at USU Bekala Campus, featuring Prof. Dr. Reiko Omoto from Tottori University, Japan. The lecture explored supply chain-based coral conservation with a case study on Mozuku seaweed farming in Okinawa. Attended by faculty members and students, the event included a Q&A session and discussions on implementing this concept in Indonesia. As a token of appreciation, certificates of recognition were presented to Prof. Reiko Omoto and the participating lecturers. This event aims to strengthen academic collaboration between USU and Tottori University. 19 February 2025

Debriefing of Prospective Graduates of the USU Faculty of Forestry in Period II of 2024/2025: The Role of Alumni in Regional Government The USU Faculty of Forestry held a Debriefing of Prospective Graduates & Alumni Talks on February 6, 2025 at the USU Bekala Campus for Forestry with the theme “The Role of Forestry Alumni in Regional Government”. The event featured alumni Christopel Limbong, S.Hut., M.Si., and Leo Bilyanto Sembiring, S.Hut., M.Si., and was filled with award certificates for graduates with the highest GPA in each specialization. Vice Dean I, Dr. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, S.Hut., M.Si., hoped that this activity would empower graduates to face the professional world and strengthen their contribution in the field of forestry. 06 February 2025

USU Faculty of Forestry Welcomed a Visit from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Simalungun to Discuss IC-BaFoRA 2025 The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed a visit from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Simalungun, on January 31, 2025, at the USU Bekala Campus to discuss the International Conference 2025 on Bamboo Forestry Resources and Application (IC-BaFoRA), organized by PUI Bambu. The discussion covered the concept, theme, and implementation strategy of the conference, which is expected to serve as a platform for academics and researchers to share innovations and strengthen international collaboration. 31 January 2025
