The meeting served as a momentum for both institutions to become better acquainted while opening opportunities for academic cooperation that can be developed in the future, particularly in the fields of forestry, earth sciences, environment, and sustainable natural resource management.

As the younger generation, let us continue to learn about, appreciate, and preserve batik as part of Indonesian culture. Preserving culture also means preserving the stories within it.

The public consultation followed the enactment of Law Number 32 of 2024 concerning Amendments to Law Number 5 of 1990 on the Conservation of Biological Natural Resources and Their Ecosystems. The forum brought together academics, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and local government representatives to discuss the substance of the draft regulation to ensure that it aligns with conservation needs and the dynamics of natural resource management in the field.

Let us strengthen the spirit of unity, uphold the values of Pancasila, and work together to build an Indonesia with strong character, integrity, and a firm foundation in national values.

All new students of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, for the 2026 intake are hereby informed that Student Identity Cards (KTM) will be distributed by Bank BTN. Students are expected to attend at the scheduled time and bring the required documents.

The meeting began with opening remarks by Dr. Anita Zaitunah, S.Hut., M.Sc., who delivered remarks and opened the introduction session between NSHE and the Faculty of Forestry USU leadership. The meeting was also attended by Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si., Dr. Anita Zaitunah, and other representatives of the Faculty of Forestry USU.

The webinar carried the topic “Contrasting Dispersal Syndromes and the Biogeographical History of Talipariti tiliaceum (Malvaceae), a Widespread Mangrove Associate”. The discussion highlighted a scientific perspective on dispersal syndromes and the biogeographical history of Talipariti tiliaceum, which is closely associated with coastal environments and mangrove ecosystems.

The entire Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, extends its birthday wishes to Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si.

The talk show featured Lidia Elvina, Head of Regulatory and Sustainability at PT Link Net Tbk, and Afriyanti Yosephin, Head of Talent Acquisition at PT Link Net Tbk. Through interactive discussions with students, both speakers shared perspectives on the role of companies in supporting sustainable development while providing students with an opportunity to understand the contribution of the industrial sector to environmental conservation efforts.

More than just a tree-planting activity, this initiative demonstrates that environmental conservation requires shared involvement and responsibility. Collaboration among the USU Faculty of Forestry, the business sector, foundations, local government, communities, and students is an important force in expanding the impact of environmental action. The involvement of various stakeholders also creates opportunities to develop conservation activities supported by academic knowledge, social awareness, and tangible contributions from the industrial sector.
