To encourage young people's involvement in promoting environmental sustainability, PT Link Net Tbk held an interactive talk show with students of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), as part of the series of activities for the 10,000-Tree Planting Ceremony on Thursday (October 29, 2026), at Campus 2 Kwala Bekala, Deli Serdang. The event served as a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange between the industrial sector and academia on the importance of collaboration in preserving the environment and addressing the challenges of climate change.

The talk show featured Lidia Elvina, Head of Regulatory and Sustainability at PT Link Net Tbk, and Afriyanti Yosephin, Head of Talent Acquisition at PT Link Net Tbk. Through interactive discussions with students, both speakers shared perspectives on the role of companies in supporting sustainable development while providing students with an opportunity to understand the contribution of the industrial sector to environmental conservation efforts.

In the presentation, PT Link Net Tbk's involvement in the 10,000-tree planting activity was explained as part of the implementation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, which is based on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. This commitment is demonstrated through support for various environmental initiatives, including reforestation, carbon emission reduction, climate change mitigation, and biodiversity conservation.

The collaboration with the USU Faculty of Forestry also represents a strategic partnership between the industrial sector and higher education institutions. Through this synergy, environmental conservation activities are not limited to tree planting but are also supported by scientific approaches to tree species selection, planting techniques, and maintenance management. Thus, reforestation efforts are expected to provide sustainable ecological benefits.

Interaction with students was an important part of the talk show. Through discussions and the exchange of ideas, students had the opportunity to broaden their understanding of how sustainability principles are applied in the workplace and industrial sector. The activity also encouraged forestry students to recognize that environmental conservation requires the involvement of various sectors, including companies, educational institutions, and communities.

The interactive talk show further strengthened the significance of the 10,000-Tree Planting Ceremony as a collaborative platform that focuses not only on ecological action but also on developing the knowledge and awareness of the younger generation. The synergy between PT Link Net Tbk and the USU Faculty of Forestry is expected to continue growing and generate various tangible initiatives for environmental conservation and sustainable development.

This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthening students' knowledge and learning; SDG 13 (Climate Action) through support for climate change mitigation efforts; SDG 15 (Life on Land) through reforestation and biodiversity conservation efforts; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening collaboration between the industrial sector and higher education institutions.
