The Center for Excellence in Science and Technology (PUI) Mangroves and USU's Faculty of Forestry conducted international community service on September 1-2, 2024 in North Sumatra and Aceh. This activity, which involved participants from five countries, included mangrove planting and ecotourism, was part of the Summer Course Mangrove 2024 and concluded with a visit to the famous Langsa Mangrove Forest.

The USU Faculty of Forestry and the North Sumatra Agricultural Instrument Standardization Agency (BSIP) collaborated to optimize the infrastructure of the USU Bekala campus on September 2, 2024. This collaboration aims to utilize 300 hectares of land with plans to build Taman KEHATI and develop agroforestry.

The USU Faculty of Forestry held a TALENTA training to improve the service quality of its staff on August 29, 2024. This training presented material on the BINTANG BerAKHLAK value system and excellent service communication techniques, which were greeted enthusiastically by the participants.

PUI Mangrove 2024 summer course participants enjoyed a visit to USU Campus 2 in Kwala Bekala with a variety of exciting activities, including a room tour, laboratory exploration, and bell pepper harvesting. This invigorating experience enriched the participants' knowledge of various plant species and made a lasting impression.

The USU Center of Excellence in Science and Technology for Mangrove successfully held the 6th ICONART, featuring eight presenters from Indonesia and abroad who discussed topics related to natural resources and technology. The conference strengthened academic, industry, and community collaboration to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The commitment of the Forestry Study Program of the USU Faculty of Forestry to academic administration services is: signature and attestation of documents in the USU Forestry Study Program is completed within ≤ 2 working days (K2H).

The academic period of the even semester of 2023/2024 has ended, and the graduation of period IV of 2023/2024 has been carried out. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that several students managed to hold the status of the best graduates in this period.
