The ITTO–BRIN General Lecture at the Faculty of Forestry, USU, featured international and national experts to discuss ITTO’s global role in tropical forest sustainability and the application of wood forensics from BRIN. The event concluded with the signing of an MoU to strengthen research and academic collaboration.

The Faculty of Forestry, USU, will hold an ITTO–BRIN General Lecture on February 13, 2026, featuring Dr. Tetra Yanuariadi (ITTO) and Dr. Ratih Damayanti (BRIN). The event will discuss global roles in tropical forest sustainability and innovations in wood forensics.

The Faculty of Forestry, USU, held a Student Creativity Program (PKM) Coaching session on February 9–10, 2026, as an effort to enhance students’ readiness for the national PKM selection. The activity involved faculty leaders, the PKM team, and experienced students to review proposals and share strategies to make them more competitive and increase their chances of securing funding.

The Faculty of Forestry of Universitas Sumatera Utara is organizing Fahutan USU PKM Coaching as a mentoring platform for students in preparing proposals for the Student Creativity Program. The activity will be held on 9–10 February 2026 at the USU Bekala Campus.

The Bachelor Degree of Forestry Study Program of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), announces the temporary postponement of seminar activities in connection with the implementation of the Open Recruitment of PT Fajar Surya Swadaya on 2–3 March 2026. PT Fajar Surya Swadaya opens the Forestry Management Trainee (FMT) program for D3/S1 graduates from various disciplines. The selection will be conducted at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Medan, in early March 2026. The entire recruitment process is free of charge.

Two lecturers from the Faculty of Forestry USU have been awarded Patent Certificates in 2026 for innovations in plant-based ecoprint technology and environmentally friendly adhesive technology, demonstrating Faculty of Forestry USU’s research contribution to scientific development and society.
