HUMAS FAHUTAN – The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a Punggahan event to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 H on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Faculty of Forestry Meeting Room, USU Bekala Campus. The event served as a moment of togetherness for the entire academic community to strengthen bonds of fellowship ahead of the holy month.
The event was attended directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, USU, Prof. Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si.; Vice Dean II, Dr. Ir. Pindi Patana, S.Hut., M.Sc., IPU.; and Vice Dean III, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Purwoko, S.Hut., M.Si.; the Head of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; the Secretary of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si.; the Head of the Master’s Forestry Study Program, Dr. Ir. Samsuri, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM., ASEAN Eng.; the Secretary of the Master’s Forestry Study Program, Dr. Ir. Nurdin Sulistiyono, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU.; the Heads of the MNH, BDH, THH, and KSH Laboratories; all lecturers, educational staff, and members of Dharma Wanita within the Faculty of Forestry, USU. The presence of various faculty leaders and members of the academic community reflected the strong sense of unity and togetherness maintained within the faculty.
In a warm and family-like atmosphere, the Punggahan event also featured a religious sermon delivered by Dr. Achmad Siddik Thoha, S.Hut., M.Si. In his sermon, he invited all attendees to make Ramadan a momentum for self-improvement, strengthening faith, and purifying the heart from prejudice and mistakes. He expressed hope that the fasting to be observed would not merely become an annual routine, but truly serve as a path to attaining Allah SWT’s forgiveness, increasing piety, and entering the month of Ramadan with a pure heart, a clean soul, and full spiritual readiness.
Following the series of events and a joint prayer, the activity continued with a communal meal as a symbol of togetherness and gratitude. This moment further strengthened interpersonal relationships and reaffirmed that family values are an important part of academic life at the Faculty of Forestry, USU.
Through this Punggahan event, the Faculty of Forestry, USU, not only welcomed the arrival of Ramadan but also reinforced its commitment to maintaining harmony, solidarity, and a strong spirit of togetherness within the campus community.
