The Odd Semester Internship 2025/2026 officially begins. Students from the USU Faculty of Forestry will be placed in various forestry agencies, national parks, and conservation institutions to broaden field experience and strengthen their professional skills.

Two lecturers from the USU Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim and Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, received the Satyalancana Karya Satya XX from the President of Indonesia on August 17, 2025. This award recognizes their dedication of over 20 years serving in the fields of education and forestry.

The Formasa team from the USU Forestry Program successfully reached the top 8 finalists of Innovilleague 2025 and won the Honorable Mention award. This competition is a national event focused on poverty alleviation through rural community empowerment, organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PM). This achievement is a tangible proof of USU Forestry students’ contributions in bringing positive change to society.

PKKMB Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) 2025 sukses digelar dengan tema "Unlock Your Potential, Create Real Change". Selama tiga hari, mahasiswa baru dibekali materi inspiratif, pengenalan kampus, serta kegiatan kreatif yang memperkuat karakter dan jiwa kepemimpinan mereka.

The PKKMB 2025 attribute distribution at USU Faculty of Forestry took place on August 7, 2025. New students officially received jackets, caps, and scarves as their identity before joining USU’s university-wide PKKMB on August 13–15, 2025.

The PKM-GFT team from the Forestry Program at Universitas Sumatera Utara has successfully secured 2025 national funding with their “Layered Garden” innovation, which integrates tiered landscaping, renewable energy, and environmental education. The program is supervised by Dr. Anita Zaitunah and involves five active Forestry students.

Three lecturers from the USU Faculty of Forestry have successfully been awarded the Talenta Research Grant Batch II 2025. They were selected to carry out strategic research in the fields of ecology, social sciences, and sustainable development through various research schemes.
