The Faculty of Forestry USU held the BADAK Series P2EH on April 22, 2026, featuring the Chairperson of P2EH 2026, Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim. The session also included student presentations on 10-day P2EH budgeting plans and technical preparation prior to field implementation.

PUBLIC RELATIONS FHUTAN – The Faculty of Forestry, University of North Sumatra (USU), once again demonstrated its commitment to preparing students for field activities through the Academic and Student Affairs Discussion (Bincang Akademik dan Kemahasiswaan/BADAK) Series P2EH, held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Akasia Room, Faculty of Forestry USU.

The event featured the main speaker, Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Chairperson of P2EH 2026, who presented various important aspects related to the implementation of the Forest Ecosystem Introduction Practice (Praktik Pengenalan Ekosistem Hutan/P2EH). The materials covered included an overview of the activity, student readiness, and technical field implementation procedures.

Also present at the event were the Head of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., the Secretary of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si., as well as faculty laboratory staff who supported the activity.

In addition to the main presentation, the event also included presentation sessions from student representatives of each class who had conducted field surveys. In these sessions, students detailed the planned budget requirements for the P2EH implementation, which is expected to last for 10 days in the field.

The presentations covered various key components, including accommodation, meals, transportation, and operational needs at the activity site. The data presented showed well-structured planning, including estimated participant numbers, housing requirements, and detailed cost breakdowns for the entire activity period.

The discussion proceeded interactively, with the speaker providing input on budget efficiency, logistical readiness, and implementation strategies in the field. This became an important part of ensuring that the P2EH activity could run effectively, in a well-planned manner, and in accordance with student needs.

On this occasion, the Head of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program also expressed his hope that all students of the 2024 cohort would participate in the P2EH program.

“We hope that all students of the 2024 cohort can actively participate in the P2EH activity, and that its implementation will run smoothly and provide optimal benefits,” he stated.

The BADAK Series P2EH activity was specifically intended for 2024 cohort students as well as those who will be participating in P2EH. The high enthusiasm of participants throughout the event reflected strong student interest in field preparation activities, which are an essential part of forestry education.

Through this activity, it is expected that students will not only be academically prepared but also possess the technical and mental readiness to face field dynamics, while optimizing their P2EH experience as part of an applied and continuous learning process.
