The inauguration of the Dean and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, for the 2026–2031 period was held on May 4, 2026, marking a new step toward The Era of Ultimate Excellence.

FORESTRY PUBLIC RELATIONS — Universitas Sumatera Utara officially inaugurated the Dean and Vice Deans of the Faculty of Forestry for the 2026–2031 period on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the USU Student Center.

The inauguration was part of the university’s agenda to officially appoint faculty leaders while also marking a new phase for USU in entering “The Era of Ultimate Excellence,” a stage focused on strengthening outstanding quality and creating impact at both national and international levels.

The newly inaugurated leadership of the Faculty of Forestry USU for the 2026–2031 period consists of:

  • Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati as Dean
  • Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto as Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs
  • Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim as Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure
  • Dr. Anita Zaitunah as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization

This inauguration serves as an important momentum in strengthening academic leadership within USU, particularly in addressing global challenges such as technological advancement, climate change, and the evolving dynamics of higher education.

In line with the university’s strategic direction, higher education institutions are expected to become more adaptive and responsive to change, focusing not only on strengthening systems but also on achieving quality that delivers tangible benefits to society.

Furthermore, the role of lecturers continues to evolve, not only as educators and researchers but also as academic leaders with managerial capabilities in institutional governance.

With the appointment of the new leadership, the Faculty of Forestry USU is expected to enhance academic performance, expand partnerships, and strengthen its contribution to the sustainable management of forest and environmental resources.
