HUMAS FAHUTAN – The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) once again organized an evening walk for its lecturers and educational staff on Thursday (16/7) at 4:30 p.m. The activity, attended by more than 30 participants, forms part of the faculty's ongoing efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle while strengthening the sense of community among its academic members.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Arida Susilowati, together with the Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure, Dr. Luthfi Hakim. Their participation encouraged attendees and contributed to the warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the activity.

Although the sky was overcast from the beginning, the weather did not dampen participants' enthusiasm. The evening walk proceeded smoothly, creating a welcoming atmosphere through informal conversations and interactions along the route. The occasion served as an informal communication platform to strengthen collegial relationships, foster collaboration, and reinforce the sense of togetherness among the faculty's lecturers and educational staff.

Beyond its physical health benefits, the activity also offered participants a refreshing break from their daily academic and administrative responsibilities. The camaraderie built throughout the walk reflects the Faculty of Forestry's commitment to fostering a harmonious, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.

The event concluded with a cooling-down session led by Nur Hidayat, M.Si. as the instructor. Participants then enjoyed healthy refreshments consisting of pumpkin compote (kolak labu) and a variety of fresh fruits. The relaxed and family-like atmosphere at the end of the event further reinforced the spirit of togetherness that defined the afternoon's activity.

Through this simple yet meaningful initiative, the USU Faculty of Forestry continues to promote a healthy, productive, and collaborative work culture. Strengthening relationships outside the workplace is expected to enhance synergy among members of the academic community in supporting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and fostering a more dynamic and competitive academic environment.

The evening walk also aligns with the Faculty of Forestry's commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by encouraging regular physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle for the academic community. In addition, the initiative supports SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening communication, solidarity, and collaboration among lecturers, educational staff, and faculty leaders in building a harmonious, collaborative, and productive working environment. This culture of togetherness is expected to serve as a strong foundation for improving institutional governance and supporting the sustainable implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
