The Faculty of Forestry of Universitas Sumatera Utara carried out a community service program entitled Community Assistance in Post-Flood Education Recovery in Langkat, North Sumatra in three flood-affected villages. The activity included learning assistance and the distribution of school supplies for children affected by the disaster.
The Faculty of Forestry at USU carried out MPTS seedling planting activities in three flood-affected villages in Langkat Regency as an effort toward environmental recovery and strengthening public awareness of sustainable natural resource management. The activity involved faculty leaders, lecturers, and the academic community as a manifestation of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a Socialization and Mentoring Program for the Submission of DPPM 2026 Research Proposals on Friday, 19 December 2025. The activity aimed to improve lecturers’ readiness and the quality of research proposals in preparation for the 2026 research funding scheme.
The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a Joint Exercise and Coffee Morning as an effort to maintain fitness and strengthen togetherness among the academic community after the completion of the Odd Semester Examinations.
Through USU Peduli, lecturers and students of Universitas Sumatera Utara directly visited flash flood-affected areas in Langkat Regency and Aceh Tamiang. Residents still urgently need clean water, ready-to-eat meals, basic necessities, school supplies, and temporary shelters.
The USU Faculty of Forestry earned a series of awards at the 2025 USU Award, ranging from priority performance indicators and PDDIKTI reporting accuracy to individual recognitions, affirming the faculty’s strong performance and collaboration in supporting the university’s progress.
The USU Faculty of Forestry together with RELINDO North Sumatra and several rescue teams carried out humanitarian evacuation efforts for flood-affected residents in Medan Deli to Tanjungpura, Langkat. This humanitarian mission was led by Dr. Achmad Siddik Thoha and took place intensively over two days.
The Pre-Graduation Briefing for Prospective Graduates of the USU Faculty of Forestry Period I Academic Year 2025/2026 featured M. Indra Kurnia, S.Hut. (Director of Conservation at YOSL–OIC) to strengthen soft skills and the role of foresters in supporting the SDGs, while also announcing the Best Graduates from four fields of specialization.
The USU Faculty of Forestry has completed the 2025 Internal Quality Audit (AMI) for the GJM, GKM S1, and GKM S2 units. The audit results show that quality implementation is running well while requiring improvements in documentation and reporting standardization.
