HUMAS FAHUTA – Nauli Ecoprint, a sustainable fashion MSME that develops products using natural dyes and motifs, once again showcased its work at Karya Kreatif Sumatera Utara (KKSU) 2026, held from July 23–26, 2026, at DeliPark Mall Podomoro Medan. Nauli Ecoprint’s participation formed part of efforts to strengthen the development of the green economy while expanding the competitiveness of North Sumatra’s creative products at both national and international levels.

Karya Kreatif Sumatera Utara (KKSU) is an annual program organized by Bank Indonesia’s Representative Office for North Sumatra Province in collaboration with the North Sumatra Provincial Government and various strategic partners. The program reflects Bank Indonesia’s commitment to promoting MSME development, the creative economy, digitalization, investment, and the green economy in North Sumatra.

In 2026, KKSU adopted the theme “From Local to Global: Promoting Innovative, Inclusive, Sustainable, and Internationally Competitive MSMEs.” The theme aligns with Nauli Ecoprint’s development as an MSME supported by Bank Indonesia since October 2023, consistently developing environmentally friendly fashion products based on the utilization of natural resources.

Throughout KKSU 2026, Nauli Ecoprint participated in a variety of activities. Together with five other MSMEs, it joined the Green MSME Booth, a group of businesses that implement sustainability principles in their production processes. The booth served as a platform to introduce products that not only hold economic value but also prioritize environmental conservation and provide social benefits to the community.

In addition to showcasing various ecoprint fashion and craft products, Nauli Ecoprint was also entrusted with organizing an ecoprint (eco-pounding) workshop, allowing visitors to learn and practice creating natural motifs using leaves and flowers. The activity served as an educational platform for introducing the use of biodiversity as a raw material for sustainable creative industries.

Nauli Ecoprint’s participation was further highlighted through its involvement in the Fashion Show Parade featuring MSMEs supported by Bank Indonesia’s Representative Office for North Sumatra Province, in collaboration with CV IR Songket. The collaboration showcased the harmony between ecoprint fabrics and traditional woven textiles, presenting fashion innovations that celebrate local cultural heritage while strengthening North Sumatra’s identity within the creative industry.

Nauli Ecoprint was also entrusted with producing ecoprint fabric used for KKSU 2026 committee uniforms during the opening ceremony. This involvement reflects recognition of the quality of Nauli Ecoprint’s products while demonstrating that sustainable fashion can be incorporated into large-scale events.

During KKSU 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Arida Susilowati, also visited the Nauli Ecoprint booth at DeliPark Mall Podomoro Medan. The visit represented support for the development of MSMEs based on non-timber forest products and environmentally friendly product innovation.

On the occasion, Prof. Arida expressed her appreciation for Nauli Ecoprint’s continued development, innovation, and consistency in producing products based on natural resources.

“Nauli Ecoprint is a tangible example of how natural resources can be transformed into value-added products that not only demonstrate high quality but also support environmental conservation. We appreciate Nauli Ecoprint’s continued growth and its involvement in various strategic activities, including Karya Kreatif Sumatera Utara 2026. We hope this achievement will inspire the emergence of more green MSMEs capable of competing in the global market,” said Prof. Arida.

The visit also provided an opportunity to encourage the Nauli Ecoprint team to continue innovating and developing sustainable fashion products capable of strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesian MSMEs in international markets.

Nauli Ecoprint’s participation in KKSU 2026 demonstrates that collaboration among academia, Bank Indonesia, government institutions, and MSMEs can generate innovations that not only create economic value but also promote sustainable business practices. Through responsible utilization of natural resources and the development of environmentally based creative products, Nauli Ecoprint continues to strengthen its role as one of North Sumatra’s green MSMEs, ready to progress from local markets toward the global stage.

Nauli Ecoprint’s participation in KKSU 2026 contributed to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through employment opportunities generated by product production and marketing; SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through environmentally friendly utilization of natural resources; SDG 15 (Life on Land) by encouraging practices that help reduce waste and promote responsible use of terrestrial resources; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among various stakeholders.
