Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara
The three students are finalists who advanced through a series of mentoring and proposal selection processes previously conducted by Universitas Sumatera Utara. Throughout the process, they received intensive guidance to refine their innovative ideas, which will be presented at the national competition in Jakarta from August 3–6, 2026.
A warm and family-oriented atmosphere characterized the fellowship gathering of Dharma Wanita of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held in conjunction with the commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW) on Saturday, August 29, 2026. The activity took place at the residence of the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, USU, Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si., in Puri Zahara II Complex, Medan.
Congratulations to Arjuman Pasaribu, S.Hut., an alumnus of the Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Class of 2022, for successfully passing the selection for the Master’s Program toward a Doctoral Degree for Excellent Graduates (PMDSU) at IPB University.
In an atmosphere filled with pride and emotion, graduates of the Faculty of Forestry USU took part in the ceremonial proceedings alongside graduates from various faculties across Universitas Sumatera Utara. Wearing their graduation gowns, the graduates celebrated the long journey they had completed throughout their higher education.
The session featured Jawahir Ulwan, a native of Binjai who pursued his education in Türkiye in 2023 after studying at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in Java. His organizational experience, which began when he served as a Scout Leader at the pesantren, became one of the foundations that led him to become actively involved in Indonesian student organizations and eventually be entrusted with leading PPI Türkiye.
Komting, short for Komandan Tingkat, refers to student representatives at the department or study program level who are selected by their classmates to serve as a liaison between students, lecturers, and the study program.
The accreditation preparation is part of the Faculty of Forestry USU's efforts to build a sustainable quality culture. This process is not only oriented toward fulfilling administrative documents but also serves as an opportunity to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of education implementation, strengthen governance, and ensure that each study program can continue to develop in accordance with established quality standards.
The initiation of the Expert Services Clinic marks the first step for the USU Faculty of Forestry in connecting academic expertise with the real needs of communities, government institutions, businesses, and various stakeholders. Through more systematic competency mapping, the faculty is expected to provide professional expertise-based services while expanding opportunities for collaboration and knowledge downstreaming.
