The USU Faculty of Forestry appoints the Dean’s Expert Staff for the 2025/2026 Academic Year to strengthen academic execution, student affairs, collaboration, research, and resource management. This team is expected to support the sustainable achievement of the faculty’s strategic targets.
The Faculty of Forestry at USU reminds students to bring mandatory items during midterm and final exams: student ID card, study plan card, black-white uniform, and complete stationery. This rule ensures smooth exam procedures, order, and discipline.
Prof. Dr. Apri Heri Iswanto, S.Hut., M.Si. from the USU Faculty of Forestry has been included in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list by Stanford University. This achievement highlights his contribution to forestry research at the global level.
The complete list of class leaders (Komting) of the USU Forestry Study Program from each cohort and study interest has been officially announced. The selected Komting are expected to serve as communication bridges and drivers of positive activities within their respective classes.
The USU Faculty of Forestry has adjusted the composition of thesis examiners to make the examination process more effective, fair, and supportive of students’ academic quality. This change applies to students with either one or two supervisors.
Two lecturers of the USU Faculty of Forestry have officially become LAM PTIP Assessors. This achievement affirms the role of USU Forestry in improving the quality of higher education in agriculture and forestry.
The Odd Semester Internship 2025/2026 officially begins. Students from the USU Faculty of Forestry will be placed in various forestry agencies, national parks, and conservation institutions to broaden field experience and strengthen their professional skills.
Two lecturers from the USU Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim and Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, received the Satyalancana Karya Satya XX from the President of Indonesia on August 17, 2025. This award recognizes their dedication of over 20 years serving in the fields of education and forestry.
The PKM-GFT team from the Forestry Program at Universitas Sumatera Utara has successfully secured 2025 national funding with their “Layered Garden” innovation, which integrates tiered landscaping, renewable energy, and environmental education. The program is supervised by Dr. Anita Zaitunah and involves five active Forestry students.
