BADAK PKL Series at the Faculty of Forestry USU discussed the flow, regulations, and technical implementation of the 2026 Field Work Practice (PKL) with the PKL Chair, the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, and lecturers from Forest Resource Conservation. This activity helped students prepare for PKL in a more structured and thorough manner.
HUMAS FAHUTAN – The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized the BADAK: PKL Series (Academic and Student Affairs Discussion) on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, at the Akasia Room, Faculty of Forestry USU. This activity served as a forum for socialization and strengthening students’ understanding of the implementation of the 2026 Field Work Practice (Praktik Kerja Lapangan/PKL).
The activity featured Dr. Ir. Ma’rifatin Zahrah, M.Si., as the Chair of PKL 2026, as the main speaker. In her presentation, she explained the PKL implementation flow, administrative requirements, supervision mechanisms, and reporting procedures that students need to understand from the outset. The material was delivered in a systematic manner so that students would have a clear overview before entering the PKL implementation stage.
Also in attendance were the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si., as well as lecturers from Forest Resource Conservation (KSH), as the PKL committee for this year is coordinated under KSH. The presence of study program management elements and the organizing committee was expected to strengthen coordination and ensure that PKL-related information was conveyed comprehensively to students.
The question-and-answer session was brief and focused on technical PKL issues, particularly regarding assessment mechanisms and regulations on the number of members per group. The speaker provided direct explanations to clarify these provisions so that students would have a clearer understanding prior to the implementation of PKL.
Through the BADAK PKL Series forum, the Faculty of Forestry USU hopes that students—particularly the 2023 cohort and PKL participants—can prepare themselves more thoroughly, both in terms of administrative readiness and field preparedness. This activity is also part of the faculty’s efforts to build effective communication between academic management and students to ensure that PKL is implemented in an orderly manner and in accordance with established regulations.
