The Rain Forest Student Activity Unit (UKM Rain Forest) of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), officially inaugurated the Arkasena Cabinet for the 2026/2027 term on Monday (August 10, 2026), at USU Kwala Bekala Campus 2. The inauguration carried the theme, “Bringing New Light to Leadership, Strengthening Synergy, and Realizing Sustainable Change.”

The event was attended by Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Forestry USU, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; Advisor to UKM Rain Forest, Dr. Ir. Lutfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; alumni; the Members’ Advisory Board (DPA); and representatives of student organizations.

Emphasizing the spirit of togetherness and collaboration, the Arkasena Cabinet is expected to develop UKM Rain Forest into an active and innovative student organization capable of creating meaningful impact. The name “Arkasena” symbolizes light, energy, hope, unity, strength, discipline, and solidarity as the core values guiding the new leadership.

The Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Forestry USU expressed hope that UKM Rain Forest would not only contribute to the faculty but also create a positive impact on USU while encouraging students to develop and excel beyond academic fields. Meanwhile, the Advisor to UKM Rain Forest emphasized the importance of healthy organizational practices, strengthening collaboration, and incorporating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the organization’s initiatives.

Support also came from alumni, who encouraged the new management team to continue fostering collaboration, creating positive impacts, and developing Rain Forest’s capacity to compete at both national and international levels.

The inauguration of the Arkasena Cabinet also contributes to SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, particularly by strengthening leadership, collaboration, and responsible and integrity-driven organizational governance.

With the inauguration of the new leadership, UKM Rain Forest for the 2026/2027 term is expected to carry out its responsibilities with a strong spirit of synergy and collaboration while making meaningful contributions to the organization, the Faculty of Forestry, and Universitas Sumatera Utara.
