HUMAS FAHUTAN – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held the Inauguration of Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs across the university on Wednesday (1/7/2026) for the 2026–2031 term of office. The event is part of the university's efforts to strengthen academic governance through leadership regeneration, which is expected to enhance the quality of education, research, and community service.

On this occasion, several lecturers from the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, were entrusted with strategic leadership positions, both within the Faculty of Forestry and in study programs across other faculties at Universitas Sumatera Utara.

For the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si. was officially inaugurated as Head of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry for the 2026–2031 term, succeeding Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., who has completed his term of service. Meanwhile, Dr. Deni Elfiati, S.P., M.P. was appointed as Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, succeeding Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si. At the master's level, Prof. Dr. Ir. Siti Latifah, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D. was officially inaugurated as Head of the Master's Program in Forestry for the 2026–2031 term, succeeding Dr. Ir. Samsuri, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM.

In addition to the inauguration of study program leaders within the Faculty of Forestry, two Faculty of Forestry lecturers were also entrusted with leadership positions in doctoral programs at Universitas Sumatera Utara. Prof. Dr. Delvian, S.P., M.P. was inaugurated as Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management for the 2026–2031 term. Meanwhile, Dr. Achmad Siddik Thoha, S.Hut., M.Si. was appointed as Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Regional Planning for the 2026–2031 term.

This inauguration reflects Universitas Sumatera Utara's confidence in the competence, integrity, and academic capacity of the Faculty of Forestry lecturers in supporting the advancement of higher education. The new leadership is expected to strengthen study program governance, improve the quality of academic services, expand collaborations, and foster innovations that make meaningful contributions to forestry development and sustainable development.

The entire Faculty of Forestry of Universitas Sumatera Utara extends its congratulations to all newly inaugurated officials. May they carry out the responsibilities entrusted to them with integrity, dedication, and a spirit of collaboration in advancing study programs that are increasingly excellent, adaptive, and competitive at both the national and international levels.

The Faculty of Forestry also expresses its highest appreciation to the previous study program leaders for their dedication, service, and contributions to advancing forestry higher education at Universitas Sumatera Utara. Their achievements have laid an important foundation for the continued development of the study programs in the future.

The inauguration of Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term supports the achievement of SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening academic leadership aimed at improving the quality of higher education, research, and community service. In addition, this event also aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by reinforcing effective, accountable, and integrity-driven institutional governance in support of a globally competitive and excellent university.
