USU Forestry Faculty hosted Ramadan 2024 iftar with a sermon, distribution of food packages, and communal evening prayer.

The holy month of Ramadan is eagerly anticipated by Muslims around the world. During this sacred month, Muslims strive to do good deeds, including fostering and strengthening bonds of togetherness. On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held an iftar gathering attended by faculty members and staff along with their families.

The event began with opening remarks delivered by Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Forestry at USU. In his speech, he expressed his gratitude for the presence and camaraderie shared among attendees. He also emphasized that the iftar gathering serves as a means to enhance performance and achievements, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

In addition to enjoying meals together, the event, held at the Faculty of Forestry, USU Campus 2 Bekala, featured a sermon by Ustaz Yadi, a lecturer from Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara (UINSU). In his sermon, he highlighted the themes of togetherness and mutual forgiveness. “As humans, we are not free from mistakes. Therefore, we should forgive one another to embrace blessings while observing this holy month,” he said.

On this occasion, the Faculty of Forestry also distributed food packages to all faculty members and staff as a gesture of kindness and unity. The distribution was led directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si.

As the Maghrib call to prayer resonated, everyone broke their fast with the variety of dishes served. The iftar event concluded with communal Isya prayers and warm handshakes among attendees.
