The Faculty of Forestry USU received a visit from TBS Foundation on March 31, 2026, to explore strategic collaboration in sustainability and green energy. The meeting discussed potential partnerships, including national innovation-based programs and student competency development.
HUMAS FAHUTAN – The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), welcomed a visit from TBS Foundation as part of an initiative to explore strategic collaboration in the fields of sustainability and green energy. The meeting took place on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Forestry USU.
The visit was attended by a representative of TBS Foundation, Andri Rizki Putra, S.H., LL.M., along with faculty leaders and members of the academic community of the Faculty of Forestry USU. These included the Vice Dean I, Dr. Ir. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, S.Hut., M.Si., the Head of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., the Secretary of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si., the Head of Student Affairs Subdivision, Era Salida, S.Sos., the Dean’s expert staff, and faculty personnel.
During the meeting, TBS Foundation presented its organizational profile and outlined its program development direction, focusing on sustainability and renewable energy issues. One of the highlighted initiatives was a national-scale Thought Leadership program packaged as a business competition, aimed at fostering innovation among the younger generation.
The discussion also explored various collaboration opportunities between both parties, particularly in strengthening academic capacity, enhancing student competencies, and implementing innovation-based programs in forestry and environmental sectors.
This activity is expected to serve as an initial step in building a sustainable partnership between the Faculty of Forestry USU and TBS Foundation. Such collaboration is anticipated to contribute significantly to the development of adaptive human resources and support the national sustainable development agenda.
