The second day of the 2025 Summer Course at USU Faculty of Forestry was lively with an international lecture, faculty tour, and international photo contest. The event concluded with a visit to the USU Arboretum, enriching learning experiences on forest resource conservation.

PR FHUT – The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held the second day of the Summer Course 2025 on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, with a series of insightful and memorable activities. The event was attended by participants from various universities, both domestic and international.

 

The program began with a welcoming ceremony by the leadership of the USU Faculty of Forestry, followed by a tour of the faculty and laboratories, introducing participants to the academic and research facilities available.

 

The main session featured a presentation entitled “Environmental Education in Mangrove Conservation Efforts” by Prof. Wendell A. Delos Reyes from Diliman College, Philippines. In his lecture, he emphasized the vital role of environmental education in supporting mangrove conservation.

 

Adding to the excitement, winners of the international photography contest, part of the USU Faculty of Forestry Dies Natalis celebration, were announced. The competition showcased outstanding works highlighting natural beauty and the importance of conservation.

 

Before closing the day, participants visited the USU Forestry Arboretum. This visit provided firsthand experience in exploring the diversity of flora while reflecting on the importance of forest resource conservation.

 

The second day of the Summer Course 2025 not only strengthened international networks in the field of forestry but also offered a joyful, inspiring, and meaningful learning experience.
