The Rimbapala Student Organization of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a send-off and departure ceremony for its members participating in the General Assembly (MUBES) on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Faculty of Forestry, USU Campus 2 Bekala, Deli Serdang. The send-off was attended by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni of the Faculty of Forestry, USU, Dr. Tito Sucipto.
This year’s Rimbapala General Assembly carries the theme “Uniting Ideas, Strengthening Leadership, Towards an Excellent and Sustainable Rimbapala.” The event serves as an important opportunity for Rimbapala members to evaluate the organization, unite ideas, and formulate its future direction and strategies.
On the occasion, Dr. Tito Sucipto delivered messages and encouragement to all Rimbapala members participating in the General Assembly. He encouraged students to use the deliberation forum as a space to strengthen solidarity, express ideas constructively, and prioritize the interests of the organization throughout the decision-making process.
“A general assembly is not only about electing leaders, but also about how we unite ideas and build a shared commitment to make the organization better,” said Dr. Tito in his remarks.
He also advised all participants to uphold the good name of the Faculty of Forestry USU throughout the event, demonstrate discipline and responsibility, and maintain good communication among members. A spirit of solidarity and integrity-based leadership is expected to serve as an important foundation for the continued development of Rimbapala as a student organization within the Faculty of Forestry USU.
Following the send-off ceremony, Rimbapala members departed for the PTPN IV Sibolangit Guest House, the venue for the General Assembly. The event was held for three days, from August 21–23, 2026, with the main agenda focusing on organizational deliberations and discussions of various strategic matters concerning the continuity of Rimbapala.
Through the General Assembly, Rimbapala is expected to produce decisions that not only address the organization’s current needs but also serve as a foundation for strengthening leadership and regeneration in the future. The process also contributes to developing students’ capacity to collaborate, make responsible decisions, and demonstrate concern for environmental and organizational sustainability.
The activity further strengthens the Faculty of Forestry USU’s commitment to supporting student capacity development through student organizations. The values of leadership, collaboration, and sustainability fostered through the Rimbapala General Assembly align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, through youth capacity building, responsible leadership, and inclusive and sustainable organizational governance.
With the spirit of uniting ideas and strengthening leadership, the Rimbapala General Assembly is expected to serve as a strategic step toward establishing a more solid, adaptive, and sustainable organizational direction while strengthening the contribution of forestry students to upholding leadership values and environmental conservation.
