The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), continued to finalize preparations for the implementation of the 2026 Campus Life Introduction for New Students (PKKMB) through a coordination meeting held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Forestry USU.
The meeting was part of a series of preparations to welcome new students who will participate in PKKMB activities from August 12–14, 2026. The activity aimed to ensure that the entire PKKMB program is carried out in a structured and educational manner while providing a positive first experience for new students of the Faculty of Forestry USU.
The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU, Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si., accompanied by the Vice Deans, namely Dr. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., Dr. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Agr., and Dr. Anita Zaitunah, S.Hut., M.Si. Also in attendance were PKKMB Committee Chair Deanova Depari, S.Hut., M.Sc., PKKM Chair Said Mutholib, and members of the committee involved in organizing the activity.
During the meeting, various technical and substantive aspects of PKKMB implementation were discussed comprehensively, ranging from the preparation of the activity flow and division of committee responsibilities to the readiness of faculty introduction materials and strategies for creating an inclusive, safe, and inspiring learning environment for new students.
The meeting was conducted interactively through constructive discussions. Various strategic inputs and ideas were presented by all participants as an effort to refine the PKKMB implementation concept. The synergy between the faculty leadership and the committee is expected to result in a PKKMB program that not only runs smoothly but also provides a positive impression as the gateway to students' academic journey at the Faculty of Forestry USU.
Through thorough coordination, the Faculty of Forestry USU reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a high-quality PKKMB program focused on character development, introducing academic culture, and instilling the values of integrity, collaboration, and environmental awareness as foundations for new students in navigating campus life.
This activity is relevant to SDG 4 (Quality Education) through strengthening quality education from the orientation stage for new students, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between the faculty leadership and the committee in successfully organizing PKKMB.
