HUMAS FAHUTA – The Sylva Student Association (HIMAS) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) inaugurated its 2026/2027 executive board on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Acacia Balsa Classroom, Faculty of Forestry USU. The inauguration marked the beginning of a new term for the organization while strengthening synergy among Student Activity Units (UKM) and Student Organizations (Ormawa) within the Faculty of Forestry USU.
In the new executive board, Dodi Sepryo Sembiring was appointed as Chairperson of HIMAS USU for the 2026/2027 period, accompanied by Irmaellin Siallagan as Secretary and Dinda Dwi Ramadhani as Treasurer. Meanwhile, the Members’ Representative Council (DPA) is led by Roy Nainggolan, with members Ilham Afandi, Stevan Pedro Sinaga, Fadhlan Azhari Sitorus, and Andre Dolly Situmorang, who are responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities in accordance with its Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART).
The inauguration was held in a solemn atmosphere and attended by Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Forestry USU; Suri Fadhilla, S.Hut., M.Sc., HIMAS Advisor II; as well as representatives of UKM and Ormawa from the Faculty of Forestry USU. The ceremony included the reading of the Decree, the inauguration of the executive board, and the recitation of the oath of office.
In his address, Dodi Sembiring encouraged all board members to build a more active and professional HIMAS while strengthening communication and collaboration among student organizations. Meanwhile, Suri Fadhilla advised the new board members to carry out their organizational responsibilities while maintaining a balance between academic and organizational activities.
The new HIMAS executive board is expected not only to serve as a platform for developing students’ capacities but also as a space for cultivating leadership, responsibility, communication, and teamwork skills. Through organizational experiences, students have opportunities to develop competencies that complement their academic learning.
This commitment is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through strengthening student capacity and developing skills beyond the classroom. Efforts to strengthen synergy among UKM and Ormawa also support SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by encouraging collaboration and networking to create activities that provide greater benefits to the academic community.
With the 2026/2027 executive board in place, HIMAS USU is expected to implement relevant and impactful programs while serving as a platform for Faculty of Forestry USU students to develop their leadership, collaboration, and capacity to make meaningful contributions.
