HUMAS FAHUTA – The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a preparation meeting for the 2026 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) on Tuesday (4/8) in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Forestry USU. The meeting was part of an effort to ensure that the entire PKKMB program would be carried out in an organized and educational manner while providing a memorable initial experience for new students.
The meeting was led by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni of the Faculty of Forestry USU, Dr. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si. The meeting was also attended by lecturers and education staff involved in the PKKMB committee as part of the collaborative effort to prepare for the activity, which will serve as the gateway to the new students’ academic life.
On the occasion, PKKMB Chair Said Mutholib presented various aspects of the activity preparations, ranging from the event schedule, committee task assignments, and readiness of faculty introduction materials to implementation strategies emphasizing an inclusive, interactive, and inspiring learning environment.
The meeting proceeded dynamically with constructive discussions. Various suggestions and ideas were put forward by lecturers and education staff as efforts to refine the PKKMB implementation concept. The open exchange of ideas resulted in several innovations and strategic measures expected to improve the quality of the event.
In his remarks, Dr. Tito Sucipto emphasized the importance of collaboration among all faculty members to organize a PKKMB that would not only introduce the campus environment to new students but also instill academic values, integrity, discipline, environmental awareness, and a spirit of togetherness that characterizes the Faculty of Forestry USU.
Through thorough coordination and the active participation of all parties, the Faculty of Forestry USU is optimistic that the 2026 PKKMB will be successfully implemented and provide a positive first impression for new students. The activity is expected to serve as an initial foundation for building an excellent academic culture while strengthening the faculty’s commitment to producing competent, integrity-driven, and environmentally conscious graduates.
This activity is in line with the commitment of the Faculty of Forestry USU to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the provision of quality education from the orientation period for new students, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among faculty leaders, lecturers, education staff, and the committee in ensuring the successful implementation of PKKMB.
