The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), won Third Place in the Bazaar Stand Decoration Competition as part of the USU Red and White Festival commemorating the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The competition was judged, and the winners were announced on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the USU Rectorate Bureau Courtyard in Medan.

The achievement was made possible through the creativity and collaboration of education personnel and students of the Faculty of Forestry USU in creating a stand that reflected the faculty’s forestry identity. The decoration incorporated various natural materials, such as bamboo leaves, wild orchids, and other organic materials, creating an attractive display while showcasing the distinctive character of the Faculty of Forestry.
In addition to its nature-inspired decoration, the Faculty of Forestry USU stand also showcased various processed forest products, including Wikstea, a healthy drink made from agarwood, as well as ecoprint products. These products helped introduce the potential of forest resources that can be developed into value-added products that benefit society.
Winning Third Place serves as recognition of the creativity, teamwork, and collaboration of the Faculty of Forestry USU academic community in celebrating the Red and White Festival. The achievement also demonstrates that forestry values can be presented creatively through activities that are educational, innovative, and relevant to the community.
The participation also aligns with the Faculty of Forestry USU’s commitment to supporting SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, through promoting value-added forest-based products, as well as SDG 15: Life on Land, through strengthening appreciation for biodiversity and its sustainable utilization.
Congratulations to the Faculty of Forestry USU on winning Third Place in the Bazaar Stand Decoration Competition at the Red and White Festival.
