The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), won First Place in the Yel-Yel Competition as part of the USU Merah Putih Festival, held to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The achievement was earned through an enthusiastic performance on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the USU Rectorate Office Courtyard in Medan.

Fahutan USU’s victory was a proud achievement driven by the teamwork, creativity, and fighting spirit of 20 participants comprising administrative staff and students. Carrying a forestry-themed concept filled with determination, the Fahutan USU team delivered an energetic performance combining spirited chants, synchronized movements, and an engaging choreography.

The energetic performance received an enthusiastic response from the audience. Applause and cheers accompanied every part of the performance, creating an increasingly lively atmosphere throughout the competition. The strong collaboration between administrative staff and students became a key strength that brought Fahutan USU to the top position in the competition.

Winning First Place was not merely an achievement but also reflected the strong sense of togetherness and collaboration within the Faculty of Forestry USU. The preparation and joint performance provided an opportunity for administrative staff and students to strengthen synergy while fostering a stronger sense of belonging to the faculty.

The achievement also demonstrated that the spirit of a forester is reflected not only in academic activities and forest management but also in resilience, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. These values were embodied in a performance that proudly showcased the identity of the Faculty of Forestry.
