(Thursday, August 15, 2024) The USU Faculty of Forestry (Fahutan) officially completed a series of Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) events for young foresters batch 2024. The third day of the USU Faculty of Forestry PKKMB was characterized by various excitement and interesting experiences that the young foresters would not forget.

The excitement of the third day of the USU Faculty of Forestry PKKMB began with post material filled with forestry-related knowledge, which was divided into four different posts, namely planting posts, management posts, utilization posts, and mapping posts. The four posts were filled with material presented by lecturers from various interests, including forest cultivation, forest management, forest product technology, and forest resource conservation.

Various materials packaged in a straightforward, compact, brief, and fun manner are given to all participants. Not only that, but the committee also prepared all posts based on their characteristics. In addition to listening to the material, the young foresters were presented with several games with prizes accompanied by a greenhouse tour that refreshed the eyes in some posts. The young foresters seemed enthusiastic about the greenhouse tour, where they were shown various rare plant species, such as kantung semar and carrion flowers. During the greenhouse tour, the participants were also amazed by the beautiful and dazzling collection of ornamental plants such as orchids, monstera, caladium varigata, and fruiting peppers. All participants seemed to be fascinated by the beauty and uniqueness of the tour. Not infrequently, in the tour that lasted for approximately 15 minutes, the lecturers explained a few things about the plants in it.

The excitement of the third day of PKKMB did not stop there. After the greenhouse tour, the participants were given various snacks at the utilization post. Unmitigated, in this post, the committee distributed 300 cups of wikstea to all participants. The presence of wikstea at PKKMB this time is unique for young foresters. According to them, agarwood tea is impressive, considering this product is an innovation of agarwood leaves, which are rarely used. After going through various posts filled by lecturers, PKKMB participants were then led to the shadow post, where at this post, all participants were encouraged to finalize the chants that had been prepared previously.

After completing the tour at all the provided posts, PKKMB activities continued with art performances, yell performances, message impressions, award announcements (best tik-tok and yell), election of the king and queen of the jungle, closing remarks, and group photos.

Not to forget, various parties, including the chairman of the committee, expressed gratitude. In his presentation, Adil Ritonga, as the chairman of the committee, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved, including the junior of the Faculty of Forestry 2024, for the teamwork that was established so that they could complete a series of PKKMB 2024 events very well. Hopefully, the closeness between the freshmen and all seniors can be established forever, remembering that we are one Forestry and still respect all campus residents without exception, he concluded.
