The USU Faculty of Forestry held a socialization of the selection of thesis supervisors for seventh semester students through the BADAK PILKADO SERENTAK event. This activity aims to help students choose lecturers according to their research interests.

Academic and Student Affairs Talks related to the Selection of Thesis Supervisor Commission in the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, better known as BADAK PILKADO SERENTAK, is one of the routine agendas carried out ahead of the selection of thesis supervisors for VII semester students.

The socialization related to the selection of thesis supervisors this time was held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the USU Faculty of Forestry Lecture Room, Campus 2, USU Bekala, Deli Serdang. This event was attended by all students of the Class of 2022, or students who are currently undergoing the VII (Odd) semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The event was also attended by Vice Dean I, Dr. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, S.Hut., M.Si., Head of Study Program, Dr. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Secretary of Study Program, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si., along with resource persons from various fields of interest, namely Ridahati Rambey, S.Hut., M.Si., Dr. Deni Elfiati, Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., and Dr. Anita Zaitunah, S.Hut., M.Sc.

This activity was opened with remarks delivered by the Vice Dean I, where in his remarks, Dr. Alfan appealed to all students to choose the right supervisor according to their respective interests. After listening to his remarks, the socialization continued with the presentation of material by each resource person. As an opening, each speaker introduced all lecturers in their field of interest before describing the fields and forms of research guided by each lecturer.

After the presentation of the material, the event was closed with advice from the speakers to increase the enthusiasm of students who will undergo a research period. According to them, the selection of a supervisor is very important to support students' academic smoothness.
