USI's Faculty of Agriculture and USU's Faculty of Forestry officially signed a collaboration in the fields of research, education, and community service on October 16, 2024. This collaboration includes joint research, student and lecturer exchanges, and innovative programs to support food security and environmental sustainability.
FAHUTAN PR- The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Simalungun (USI) and the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) have officially signed a cooperation agreement in the fields of research, education, and community service on Wednesday, (16/10/2024) in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
This cooperation includes collaboration in joint research in agriculture and forestry, exchange of teaching staff and students, and development of innovative programs aimed at improving the quality of education and sustainable management of natural resources.
The agreement was signed by the Dean of the USI Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Roeskani Sinaga, S.P., M.Si., and the Dean of the USU Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., witnessed by the Vice Dean II of the USU Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Pindi Patana, S.Hut., M.Sc., the Vice Dean III of the USU Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Agus Purwoko, S.Hut., M.Si., and teams from the USU Faculty of Forestry and the USI Faculty of Agriculture.
The signing of the agreement and the symbolic presentation of souvenirs by each faculty took place at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, and was attended by delegates from both universities.
This collaboration is considered important because the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Forestry have a strategic role in supporting food security and environmental sustainability in Indonesia. Through this synergy, it is expected that innovative solutions will be created for various challenges in agriculture and forestry, both at the local and national levels.
This cooperation will be realized through student exchange programs, collaborative research, and community service. Both faculties will actively work together in planning and implementing the agreed programs.
With this agreement, USI's Faculty of Agriculture and USU's Faculty of Forestry hope to strengthen the relationship between universities and increase their contribution to developing the agriculture and forestry sector in Indonesia.
