Rector of USU Issued Professor Decrees to 36 Lecturers, 4 from the Faculty of Forestry

Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., issued Professor Decrees to 36 lecturers, including four Faculty of Forestry lecturers, on January 23, 2025 at the USU Academic Senate Room. With this addition, the Faculty of Forestry now has 11 professors (25% of the total lecturers). The Rector of USU hopes that the increase in the number of professors can strengthen the Tridharma of Higher Education and increase USU's competitiveness globally.

FAHUTAN PR – The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., issued the Academic Appointment Decree for the rank of Professor to 36 USU faculty members on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Academic Senate Room, USU Campus.

The event was attended by university leaders, including Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP., Vice Rector II of USU; Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., Vice Rector III of USU; Prof. Dr. Drs. Opim Salim Sitompul, M.Sc., Vice Rector IV of USU; Dr. Ir. Luhut Sihombing, M.P., Vice Rector V of USU; and Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.OG(K)-Fer., University Secretary, along with Deans and Vice Deans from various faculties. The issuance of these decrees marked an important moment in recognizing the academic achievements of faculty members who have met the requirements for the position of Professor.

The Faculty of Forestry at USU also takes pride in the appointment of four of its faculty members as Professors, namely:

  1. Prof. Dr. Ir. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM.

  2. Prof. Dr. Budi Utomo, S.P., M.P.

  3. Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhdi, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng.

  4. Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si.

With these additions, the Faculty of Forestry now has 11 Professors, making up 25% of its total faculty members.

The USU Rector expressed his hope that the increasing number of Professors would strengthen the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education, particularly in the fields of research, education, and community service. The Faculty of Forestry is expected to enhance its global competitiveness through the contributions of its Professors.

May this achievement serve as an inspiration for the academic community to continue improving the quality and competitiveness of USU.
