As it enters the final stage of preparation for accreditation by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Agricultural Sciences (LAM-PTIP), the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), is further strengthening the readiness of accreditation documents for the Undergraduate and Master’s Programs in Forestry. This effort was carried out through a finalization meeting and evaluation of the completeness of the accreditation forms held on Monday, August 31, 2026, in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Forestry, USU, Bekala Campus 2, Deli Serdang.
The meeting, held from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. WIB, was chaired by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of the Faculty of Forestry, USU, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng. The meeting specifically discussed the progress of data completion and the completeness of information in each section of the accreditation instruments for the Undergraduate and Master’s Programs in Forestry, while also evaluating the readiness of the documents ahead of the final submission deadline.
During the meeting, the entire team reaffirmed that the preparation of accreditation documents is a shared responsibility. Therefore, coordination and collaboration among team members are essential to ensure that all data are properly compiled and that the required supporting documents are available in accordance with the accreditation instruments.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of intensive communication during the final stage of preparation. This spirit of collaboration serves as a key factor in ensuring that all components work in a coordinated manner and complete their respective responsibilities according to the established timeline.
Through this finalization process, the Faculty of Forestry, USU, demonstrates its strong commitment to building a sustainable quality culture. Accreditation is not merely part of meeting higher education standards, but also serves as an opportunity for evaluation to assess achievements, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen the quality of governance and forestry education.
This effort is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the Faculty of Forestry, USU’s commitment to ensuring the provision of quality, inclusive, and sustainable higher education. Strengthening coordination, accountability, and governance throughout the accreditation process also supports SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, particularly in building effective and accountable institutions.
With the spirit of collaboration demonstrated by the entire team, the Faculty of Forestry, USU, continues to work toward completing and submitting the Study Program Performance Reports (LKPS) and Self-Evaluation Reports (LED) for the Undergraduate and Master’s Programs in Forestry on time, as part of a strategic effort to enhance the quality of forestry education toward excellence and sustainability.
