Cinta Auliya, an undergraduate Forestry student at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), has successfully passed the PKM selection funded by Belmawa Kemendikbudristek. Along with her team, Cinta, with student ID 221201216, presented the project titled "Maggot Fellas: Innovation in Maggot (Hermetia illucens) Cultivation as an Organic Waste Management Solution to Address Tidal Flooding in Bagan Serdang Village." Their proposal stood out in this prestigious competition, advancing to the next stage by surpassing numerous teams from other faculties.
In this effort, Cinta and her team were mentored by Dr. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng. Their success has positioned the Faculty of Forestry USU among the top 2.5% of total winners, a remarkable achievement on par with the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Vocational Studies.
In terms of the number of PKM teams advancing, the Faculty of Engineering leads with 10 teams, followed by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (7 teams), the Faculty of Dentistry (6 teams), and the Faculty of Public Health (5 teams). Meanwhile, the Faculty of Psychology advanced 3 teams. The Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology each had 2 teams advancing.
