The Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Psychology at USU took part in the Archival Supervision and Development program on June 13, 2025, at the USU Archives Building. The event aims to strengthen record management and support the 2025 Best Archival Unit Award program.

FAHUTAN PR — The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) participated in the Archival Supervision and Development activity organized by the USU Archives Office. The event took place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the USU Archives Building and was also attended by the Faculty of Psychology as part of efforts to strengthen orderly and efficient record management in accordance with national archival standards.

This activity is part of the follow-up to the 2025 Best Archival Unit Award program. During the development session, all participants received direct guidance on the importance of managing both active and inactive records, as well as technical standards for organizing and transferring archives.

Interestingly, participants were also invited on a guided tour of the USU Archives Building. During the tour, they were able to directly observe the archive storage facilities, the classification layout system, and the digitization processes currently being implemented. This provided a clear picture of ideal and modern standards in archival management.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Forestry at USU reaffirmed its commitment to supporting bureaucratic reform, particularly in institutional data and archive management. The evaluation and mentoring provided by the Archives Office team also served as a valuable opportunity to improve the system and prepare the faculty’s archival unit to meet the university’s best standards.
