PKKMB Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) 2025 sukses digelar dengan tema "Unlock Your Potential, Create Real Change". Selama tiga hari, mahasiswa baru dibekali materi inspiratif, pengenalan kampus, serta kegiatan kreatif yang memperkuat karakter dan jiwa kepemimpinan mereka.

USU Faculty of Forestry Public Relations – The Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus Mahasiswa Baru (PKKMB) 2025 of the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), was successfully held for three days, filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and togetherness. Hundreds of new students, known as Rimbawan Muda (Young Foresters), participated in a series of activities designed to be attractive, ranging from ceremonial events, inspirational lectures, to creative performances by the students.

 

PKKMB was officially opened with great enthusiasm at the USU Mini Stadium Padang Bulan, Medan, which featured entertainment performances and a moment for breaking the MURI (Indonesian World Record Museum) record, which became the main highlight. After that, the new students of the Faculty of Forestry were transported to the USU 2 Kwala Bekala campus by Linus (Lintas USU) buses.

 

 

At the campus, the event continued with the official welcome ceremony, which included a traditional dance performance, the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya, as well as the Faculty’s anthems Mars Fahutan and Mars Rimbawan. Warm remarks were delivered by the Head of the PKKMB Committee, Ahmad Baiquni Rangkuti, S.Hut., M.Si., the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Ir. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, S.Hut., M.Si., and the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM.

 

 

On the first day, prominent lecturers delivered materials on important topics, such as:

  • Dr. Oding Affandi, S.Hut., MP: National Character Building and Global Leadership

  • Dr. Ir. Bejo Slamet, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM: The Transformation of Higher Education Systems in the 21st Century

  • Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng.: Transformation of Higher Education in the Digital Era, Industrial Revolution, and Society 5.0

 

 

On the second day, the material focused on enriching students’ knowledge on topics like:

  • Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si.: Strengthening the Character of Excellent Students

  • Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Purwoko, S.Hut., M.Si.: Strengthening Integrity and Academic Ethics

  • Dr. Achmad Siddik Thoha, S.Hut., M.Si.: Students as Agents of Change in Green Campuses

  • Dr. Iwan Risnasari, S.Hut., M.Si.: USU’s Transformation as a Center for Innovation Based on Local Wisdom Towards SDGs

 

 

In addition to the lectures, students also participated in a talkshow about Student Achievement and PKM (Student Creativity Program), introductions to student organizations, and creative activities like eco-printing. This session not only boosted their confidence but also introduced them to various opportunities for achievement at the Faculty of Forestry.

 

 

On the last day, PKKMB was filled with warmth and togetherness. The new students took part in a Tour de Faculty, a talkshow on scholarships, and alumni sharing their experiences about their academic journey and entering the workplace.

 

 

The atmosphere became even livelier with the performance of the 2025 batch, impressions and messages from new students, as well as the announcement of awards for the TikTok competition, best cheers, and the selection of the OMF Bumba Journal.

 

The event ended with a parade, congratulatory messages, and a group photo session with the entire academic community, leaving a lasting impression on the Young Foresters 2025.

 

With a series of events lasting for three days, PKKMB Faculty of Forestry USU 2025 not only served as an introduction to campus life but also as a platform for character building, creativity, and togetherness. The spirit of these young foresters is expected to serve as a valuable foundation as they embark on their academic journey at the Faculty of Forestry.
