Creating a generation that loves nature from an early age, USU Forestry students who are carrying out Field Work Practices in Sicike-cike TWA successfully carried out a school visit at SDN 030293 Lae Hole II, Parbuluan District, Dairi Regency, North Sumatra with the Head of Region 1 Sidikalang Section. This activity was carried out on Monday, July 22, 2024, close to National Children's Day, which falls on July 23, 2024. This activity is a celebration of National Children's Day 2024 and a form of concern for the environment instilled in the younger generation from an early age.
The school visit was filled with fun and positive activities, such as introducing wildlife species and forest areas, packaged in several exciting and interesting games. Not only that, on this occasion, students of SDN 030293 Lae Hole II also seemed enthusiastic about planting tree seedlings around the school area. The hot sun did not dampen the interest and enthusiasm of the students to participate in various activities that had been prepared in such a way.
According to Intan and her friends, as students involved in the activity, the future is in the hands of the young generation. She said that by instilling awareness of the importance of protecting the environment from an early age, we hope the next generation can grow into one who cares about the environment. They also hope that one day, all young people can realize a sustainable environment so that biodiversity and natural welfare can be achieved from generation to generation. Together with the children at SDN 030293 Lae Hole II, we prove that protecting nature is fun! Let's all be part of the change. He added that he started with small things like planting one tree.
