Saturday, June 1, 2024, the tree cleaning movement around the city of Medan was held by the USU Undergraduate Program in Forestry students batch 2022 by aiming at several trees at several points in Medan city, including Jalan Dr. Mansyur, Jalan Iskandar Muda, Jalan Setiabudi and Jalan Jamin Ginting Medan.

Undeniably, damage to various environmental elements has occurred in almost all corners of the country. Various acts of vandalism, such as tree destruction, have become common in various cities, including Medan. The high rate of tree damage in urban areas is clear evidence that the current urban environment is not okay. In fact, some damaged trees have been recorded endangering road users and the surrounding community. Not infrequently, this also causes economic and social losses in the neighborhood. The rise of tree damage and the lack of public awareness of the importance of maintaining environmental quality have aroused the spirit of environmental love of the USU Undergraduate Program in Forestry students batch 2022 to carry out a tree cleaning movement as a tangible proof of love for the environment.
