The PKKMB 2025 attribute distribution at USU Faculty of Forestry took place on August 7, 2025. New students officially received jackets, caps, and scarves as their identity before joining USU’s university-wide PKKMB on August 13–15, 2025.
USU Faculty of Forestry Public Relations — A warm and spirited atmosphere was seen at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Hundreds of new students, fondly called Rimbawan Muda 2025 (Young Foresters 2025), gathered to attend the Orientation and Distribution of Attributes for the New Student Campus Life Introduction Program (PKKMB).
This activity marked the first step before the new students participated in the university-wide PKKMB, scheduled for August 13–15, 2025. The event began with remarks from the Chairperson of the USU Forestry PKKMB 2025 Committee, Ahmad Baiquni Rangkuti, S.Hut., M.Si., followed by a welcome address and motivational speech from Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., encouraging new students to prepare for their academic journey in forestry. Remarks were also delivered by Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Head of the Forest Products Technology Laboratory.
Also present at the event were the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si.; Head of the Forest Management Laboratory, Dr. Anita Zaitunah, S.Hut., M.Sc.; Head of the Forest Cultivation Laboratory, Dr. Deni Elfiati, S.P., M.P.; Head of the Forest Products Technology Laboratory, Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; Head of Student Affairs Subdivision, Era Salida, S.Sos.; staff from Bank Mandiri Medan branch; and faculty members of USU’s Faculty of Forestry. Their presence added to the festive atmosphere of welcoming the new students.
After the briefing on PKKMB technical details, the event continued with data collection of more than 150 new students for the creation of Student Identity Cards (KTM), in collaboration with Bank Mandiri. The most anticipated moment followed—the distribution of PKKMB attributes, consisting of jackets, caps, and scarves. The distribution was carried out symbolically by the Head and Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry, the Heads of Laboratories, representatives of the Faculty of Forestry lecturers, and representatives from Bank Mandiri Medan.
Adding to the excitement, the event also featured a forestry tradition called “makan rimba” (forest feast), a communal meal that fostered stronger bonds among the new students. The family-like atmosphere created a pleasant first impression for the freshmen.
The event concluded with a cheerful photo session filled with laughter and enthusiasm, marking the beginning of the new students’ journey at the USU Faculty of Forestry, to achieve excellence.
With the official PKKMB attributes in hand, the Rimbawan Muda 2025 are now ready to embark on the PKKMB program and begin their significant steps as part of the USU Forestry family.
