In the odd semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year, six students from Universitas Lancang Kuning (Unilak) Riau and one student from Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) Makassar are participating in courses at the Forestry Program, Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). The Unilak students are part of the Kampus Merdeka Competition Program (PPKM), while the Unhas student is part of the Merdeka Student Exchange Program (PMM).
Over the next semester, they will join regular classes alongside USU Forestry Program students, attending lectures and practicums according to the courses they have selected. The Unilak students are taking 20 credits, while the Unhas student is taking 15 credits.

As additional information, last year, five Unilak students also participated in the PPKM program at USU’s Forestry Program, namely: Putri Khairani (1954251084), Muhammad Habibullah (1954251013), Saniyyah Okta Deviana Putri (1954251035), Kevin Ferdinan (1954251019), and Nori Ulfa (1954251029).
The USU Forestry Program is a leading program, particularly in western Indonesia, making it a prime destination for student exchange programs. This aligns with USU’s future vision and its tagline, "Transformation Toward the Ultimate."
