The Faculty of Forestry USU signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with PT Sultan Aren Indonesia on March 5, 2026, at the Faculty Meeting Room. This collaboration is expected to strengthen cooperation between academia and industry while opening opportunities for internships and competency development for students in the field of forestry.
HUMAS FAHUTAN – The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) continues to strengthen its collaboration with industry through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with PT Sultan Aren Indonesia. The event took place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Forestry USU.
The signing ceremony was attended by the faculty leadership, including the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM, Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Purwoko, S.Hut., M.Si., and the Head of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., along with the dean’s expert staff, lecturers, and student representatives who had previously undertaken internships at PT Sultan Aren Indonesia. Representing the company, Ilham Saputra, S.E., Director of PT Sultan Aren Indonesia, was also present at the event.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU emphasized the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and industry in supporting the development of education, research, and student competency enhancement. This partnership is expected to open broader opportunities for students to gain direct experience in the professional world.
Meanwhile, representatives from PT Sultan Aren Indonesia presented the company’s profile and outlined various potential areas of collaboration with the Faculty of Forestry USU. These include internship opportunities, field practice activities, and strengthened collaboration in forestry resource development.
Through the signing of this MoA, both parties hope that the synergy between academia and industry will continue to grow stronger and contribute meaningfully to the development of human resources in the forestry sector.
