The 2024 PILMAPRES of the Faculty of Forestry USU showcased academic excellence. Shahnaz Dwi Pasha emerged as the winner, with awards for Best Technology, Innovation, and Presenter also celebrated.

Medan, March 23, 2024 – A warm and vibrant academic atmosphere filled the Auditorium Room of the Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) on March 21, 2024, during the prestigious Faculty-level Pemilihan Mahasiswa Berprestasi (PILMAPRES) event. Held annually, this event highlights the talents and intelligence of the best students from various departments.


The event featured six participants from the 2021 cohort, who had undergone rigorous selection processes to reach the final stage of PILMAPRES. Each presented captivating topics that captured the audience's attention, consisting of lecturers, administrative staff, and fellow students. The faculty leadership, including the Dean, Program Chairs, and Vice Dean I, attended to support and inspire the participants. Additionally, distinguished lecturers such as Dr. Kansih Sri Hartini, S.Hut., M.P., Dr. Ir. Bejo Slamet, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM, and Dr. Anita Zaitunah, S.Hut., M.Sc., served as judges for the competition.


The high quality of presentations stunned the audience and judges alike. Amidst intense competition, Shahnaz Dwi Pasha emerged as the 1st Place Winner, delivering an impressive and solution-oriented presentation. Her victory brings pride to the Faculty of Forestry USU, as she will represent the faculty at the university level, competing against the top students from other faculties. Following closely behind, Tsabitah Syafanaura Kurniawan and Daniel Rolex Partogi Napitu secured the 2nd and 3rd places, respectively, demonstrating the exceptional talent and intelligence of USU Forestry students in both words and actions.


Beyond recognizing overall winners, PILMAPRES also honored contributions and innovation in specific fields. Mia Amelia was awarded Best Technology for her work that offered outstanding technological solutions. Karima Syahida earned the Best Innovation award for her fresh and creative ideas, while Syahira Ulya Salsabila was named Best Presenter for her captivating and persuasive delivery.


The PILMAPRES of the Faculty of Forestry USU not only celebrated academic excellence but also acknowledged innovation, presentation skills, and impactful technological contributions to students and society. May the success of the winners inspire all students of the Faculty of Forestry USU to continue excelling and achieving remarkable accomplishments in the future.
