On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted a socialization program titled "Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) Awareness Program at Faculties and Postgraduate School of USU" at the Faculty of Forestry. This initiative was held simultaneously across all faculties and graduate schools at USU as a strategic effort to introduce the role of the PPKS Task Force while educating about the prevention and handling of sexual violence within the campus environment. The program aims to create a safe, comfortable, and violence-free campus for all members of the academic community.
The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU and their staff, including Vice Dean I, Vice Dean II, the Head of the Forestry Study Program, the Head of Administrative Affairs, and representatives of lecturers, staff, and students from various student organizations and cohorts. The Chair of the PPKS Task Force, Dr. Meutia Nauly, S.Psi., M.Si., Psikolog, along with task force member Aulia Sabrini Saragih, provided a detailed and interactive presentation. During the session, it was emphasized that the PPKS Task Force, which will later be supported by Working Groups (Pokja PPKS) at each faculty, will serve as an advocacy and protection body for all USU academic community members who experience sexual violence.
